Ok everyone... I was visiting burfica's blog and she has a "question" post which I liked. She sent me along some questions to answer so here they

1. Tell us about your favorite job you have ever had. Well this is a toughie because after working in retail most of my life I can honestly say I have hated most of my jobs. I guess I would have to say my favourite job AND my toughest is the job of "mom". Hopefully I haven't messed up the gremlins so bad that they are axe murderers when they are out on their own. I haven't been the best Mom but have shown them and told them every single day of their lives how much I love them.

2. you are trapped in your house with 40 feet of snow out. You are stranded with the Gnome and the Gremlins. How do you spend your time, and how do you go about not killing them? Well you forget I am a Canadian so this has happened to us before. Well not with 40 feet of snow but with enough snow that we couldn't go outside and have lost power. When the kids were little, we would play go fish for hours and hours to pass the time. We would even go as far to sing Barney songs to keep me from strangling Now that they are older, we play Monopoly or have tickle fights..Both pass the time quite effectively..If that doesn't work, slip some sendatives in their milk and knock them out for a few hrs (yes I am just kidding.....or am I???)..lmao

3. If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be and why? Hmmm I am tempted to say Brazil because that is where I tell the Gnome that I am running away to when he pisses me I guess if I could live anywhere else it would be on a warm beach somewhere....a place where I could see water everyday and swim (which is my favourite thing to do in the world). Actually, if I could move one place it would be to move back home. We relocated last july for my gnome's work and I miss my Mom so much that it is insane. Wish I could move back to hometown to see her everyday again.

4. Tell us how you met the Gnome and use the words "artsy-craftsy", "mango", "dwarf-hamster", and "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious"
Ok well the story of how I met the Gnome is sorta a funny one. We actually met through an online dating site. No that isn't the funny The funny part is why we both signed up in the 1st place. I thought the whole thing was stupid but I got drunk one night with my best friend , drinking mango tonics (not really but trying to use fica's Anyway, I refused to sign up for it, so when we were drunk and at my house,my best friend went on my puter and signed me up as a joke. Well, a few days later I checked it out and I had some messages. Three of them were from married men that wanted a mistress on the side so I hit The fourth was from a guy that sounded normal and gave me his msn addy so I added him and he was online. We started talking and found out that he didn't live that far from me. After talking for a few nights, he asked me out on a date. Well I had been a single mom for 8 yrs and hadn't dated in over a decade and I was so nervous that I was ready to be sick on the day of our date. Luckily I went anyway, because as soon as I walked in the restaurant and looked into his eyes I was his. I know that sounds goofy because I NEVER believed in love at first sight, but it is true. As soon as I sat with him, my nerves were gone and I knew I wanted to be with him forever. It was As we talked, the gnome told me that he only signed up for the dating service because a good friend pushed him into it. We owe a lot to those friends of ours. Neither of us are arsty craftsy and we don't like dwarf-hamsters..lmao.(there ya go I used the words fica...hahaha).

5. You can travel back in time and gather your 5 most wanted people to have a dinner party with. Who are they? and what is on the menu?
This one I found fun to think about. The 5 people I would want to invite to dinner are almost all dead..hope that is ok...they are the following:
1) My grannie Elliot ...because I love her very much and I miss her everyday. I would want to give her one more hug and let her know how much she is missed.
2)My grandpa Elliot..for the same reason as #1.
3) Princess Diana. I would love to talk to her and let her know how many lives she affected, all the good she did in her life and how many millions morned her death.
4) Pres. J.F. Kennedy. Again for the same reason as #3. He died before I was born but still I have weeped seeing the footage of the shooting and he gave the world so much.
5)Someone that is not dead but I still would love to have dinner with...Jerry Lewis. This man has spread laughter all over the world but more importantly has given hope and a voice to so many with muscular distrophy. He has let them know they are NOT alone and there IS someone trying to find a cure for such a terrible disease.
As for what we would eat....who caressssss I would be too busy gabbing and soaking in the conversation to pay attention to the food...lmao.

There ya go burfica, thx for the questions ...this was fun.. I challenge anyone reading this to do the same thing..just modify the questions accordingly and go for it..

to be always....

THREE THINGS ON MY DESK: computer / accessories, phone and lots of clutter /dust.
THREE THINGS I'M DOING RIGHT NOW: typing, trying to breathe, trying to wake up hearts...lmao.

THREE THINGS I CAN DO: sing off key, embarrass the hell outta my teenager, and play almost any game on
THREE THINGS I CAN'T DO:sing ON key, lift anything heavy, believe in myself.
THREE THINGS I THINK YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO: your kids, your spouse and your "gut" instinct.(could tell ya stories about this one but that is a whole other post..lmao).
THREE THINGS I THINK YOU SHOULD NEVER LISTEN TO: those that have nothing better to do that belittle others, people that only want to spread hatred and of course a cat in heat (omgggggg that drove me nuts..LOL)
THREE THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN: how to be more patient with my gremlins and gnome, how to believe in the future more, how to make this computer do the things I want it to
THREE FAVORITE FOODS: fettucini alfredo, pizza, cheeseburgers(real ones, not that sh*t McDonalds
THREE T.V. SHOWS I WATCHED AS A KID: well favourite show was Star Trek..(yes I am STILL a trekkie), and omg I used to cry when Emergency wasn't on (Johnny Gage was soooooo cute..or so I thought), and of course what young girl didn't love the partridge family..omggggggg David Cassidy was soooooooo worth watching then..lmaoooooo.

What was she thinking

Ok you won't hear me say this often, but the other day I read something that almost made me ashamed to admit I am Canadian. Now at this point I should mention that both of my dear gremlins have a learning disability so I have witnessed first hand how truly stupid our school system in Canada can be. Anyone who wants to debate that point, I am more than armed with ammo for that discussion.

I have dealt with some truly idiotic teachers mixed in with a few gems that we have been blessed to know... that being said, I am truly grateful that I do NOT live in BC this week because I honestly don't think I would be able to control my temper with a teacher out there.

For whatever reason this moronic teacher decided to have her grade 6/7 students do a drama project last week and I am still shaking my heads at the results. Again, at this point I should stick in that MY gremlin is in grade 7 and if this had happened to him, they would still be cleaning up that teacher's body parts (but I rant on...sorry..LOL).

Anyway, this stupid teacher decided that it would be good for these kids to act out the shooting at Virginia Tech..and went as far as to make one of her kids to act as the shooter... I mean omgggggggg what the hell was she thinking?

Some of the kids have been traumatized by this (and understandably so in my mind). This teacher has issued an apology but if it had happened to a school anywhere near me I would be leading the fight to have her fired!!!

Like many parents I have seen what a good teacher can do,and unfortunately could regale you with stories of the damage a bad teacher can do, especially to a kid with a learning disability. But I shudder to think of the damage this teacher might have caused with her thoughtless and wreckless act. Maybe someone should send her down to Virginia and make her apologize for doing something so careless??

Still thinking about the victims and praying for their families to have strength ...

Reflections Of The Last 2 Days

How many times in the last 2 days have I heard someone say,"How can this be happening again?" And how many times have I said the same thing to myself.....

It is hard to believe that again the U.S. has to again try to find answers for an unspeakable act that caused so much bloodshed....When I was young, it was the joke that we Canadians were just another state belonging to the good ol US and these are the times that I really feel it is true...because I am here praying so very hard for the poor lost souls that have been called home and weeping along with my neighbours to the south.

I think the thing that struck me most today, as I watched the news talking about the events of yesterday...was that every survivor I saw interviewed, commented that it could have been them..they could have just as easily been one of the unfortunate ones that weren't luckily enough to make it out of that building alive. It is times like these that always remind me why I NEVER EVER let my loved ones leave me without telling them that I love them....sometimes I get so mad with the gremlins or the gnome that I seriously consider flushing them down the tiolet but since they were little (the gremlins) I have always told them...."even when I am mad at you I ALWAYS love you...and that will never change!!!"

I am reminded of a local story that happened a few weeks back... a 9 yr old girl was killed when the truck driven by her father was in a bad accident. This girl was their only child and of course both parents are devestated at her loss. A short time later her mother was interviewed by the local paper because she felt she needed to get the message out. Her message was this..and I quote "hug your kids one more time today...If I can get other parents to just hug their kids one more time..never leave your kids in an argument...I want parents to eat up everyday." As a mom, these words to me ring so true. There have been times I have been so angry at my dear gremlins that I have wanted to strangle them with my bare hands...but even in these times I always tell them I love them...and I never let those words go unspoken. I KNOW that they know I love them, but what would happen if I didn't tell them....they went off to school thinking it was a normal day...and some whacko decided it was their day to die? How would I live and find a way to go on knowing I could have told them one more time how very much I love them...and I chose not to...

They are only 3 words...but really are there any words in this life that are more powerful? or more special?

I continue to pray for the lost souls of Virginia Tech and I urge anyone who reads this to please due the same thing...

as always, to be continued (sorry this one was so long)))

Please pray for Virginia Tech

All I can say is omg not again.... I can't even imagine how this could happen or how the parents and students of Virginia Tech will ever recover from this morning's tragedy.

First let me offer my condolences and prayers to those affected by this shooting. It is hard to believe that the US will have to endure another event like this. As a Canadian it would be easy for some to turn off the news and not want to think about the events of this morning, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

As many people will be asking themselves over the coming days and weeks , my first question is why??? Why did innocent students have to die because some sick individual couldn't get his brain functioning correctly and release that death and violence is NEVER the answer??

Well ,as many, I will be watching and listening to updates to try to make sense of such a senseless act. And , as many, I will be praying for the victims of today's shooting. May God be with them and their families in this time of need.

Remember all...everything happens for a reason...but today does show us that we aren't meant to always understand what the reason might be....

Prayers from Canada and to be continued....
